    Trying to figure out if my tlr is out of timing, so my question is where should the gear behind the water pump impeller be when the front cylinder is at tdc because mine is there right now and the two punch marks are not lining up. Wish this freakin thing would run! Picture down below shows you...

    I took my engine apart for the first time and dont know how to set the cams to get them timed right. The manuel I have is not very clear on how to line up the marks any help would be greatly appreciated.

    so i was right in the middle of sandblasting my frame 2 days ago and my air compressor decided that it did not want to participate anymore, and it died. i should have known better as it is only a 5 gal. it is just sad to see it go, i made a lot of money with that old thing installing cabinets...

    ok i posted thread before about timing, possible suspect spark plugs... so i had tested the coils (in spec) got new spark plugs (cr9ek's). Now started it up, and the rear cyl. puffs every now and again back through the tb, and the front makes a sucking noise under slight acceleration...

    So I am reassembling the clutch side of things after replacing a broken clutch basket etc. Got everything back together, lined up the dots on the primary and cam gears, went to turn it over by hand and felt valves meet piston. Double checked and everything looked fine, so I removed the battery...
