Just found this out when I was removing completely buggered nuts holding the top mount of the rear sub-frame...after removing the Bitubo suspension unit after the damping part died.

Is there an ideal ratio between m/c bore and total caliper piston area?
I've just bought one of these for the racebike (GBmoto copy of an APracing rear caliper):-
and I want to get the best (used?) m/c to suit it
I could use the oe TL one if it's right, but I would prefer to get the best...
Is it ok to mix match different brand tires front and rear? will it affect anything terribly? My back tire is getting down there and I don't know if ill be able to afford the matching brand when it comes time.
Was bought for a TLR but may fit others...you will have to check.
No other locks with it, just the ignition/steering lock.
