Hello guys! I'm definitely pestering peoples with this subject lately. I have a 1998 TL1000S with TRE, cans, K&N filter, new fuel pump. 30k km, runs great but to be honest, on these streets I was missing the riding position of my KTM Duke. I've seen the old Hypermotard/TL mongrel on youtube...

Hi! I'm new to the TLS forum, as this is my first post. I just picked up a 2000 TL1000S and it's "naked," with no front cowl/fairing. It's got an aftermarket "Acerbis" Mickey Mouse front light unit, which I am definitely going to replace. I've been reading up on the ram air system. Mine...

OK its been awhile since I have owned a TL and I remember the flapper mod on the airbox, so on my TL I am building the vacuum valves were removed and the holes were duck taped! I have seen other mods where those are sealed off, anyone got any suggestions! I was thinking of finding a set of...

My 2000 TLR is mechanically stock except for Yoshi bolt ons and K N filter. I am interested in doing the airbox mod but due to being layed off from work the money for a power commander is not in the cards. Can I still do the airbox mod and not remap it right away or will it cause the bike to...

Never used, I just fitted the tubes. I did remove some aluminum from the opening in my frame, to get them to slide all the way through and into the airbox. I used a 1.5 inch sanding drum on the end of a drill. Just trial and error until they slide in. Black fiberglass and/ or black paint. Not...
  8. Motor Tear Down and Rebuild
I have a bit of a problem. :hail I seem just to jump in to taking my bike to bits without thinking how to put it back together. I took out my airbox to re-rout my throttle cables but have forgotten where all the dam pipework goes. Can anybody give me a quick description or picture ?? Any...

Ok everything looks relatively simple to do. But i have one question and hope to get the answer im looking for. When it tells you to loop one of the vaccum lines back to the T fitting. You take one line off and loop it back to where you took it off at. I really dont know cuz everything else had...

Today I learned that my TLR has the airbox mod, only problem is the holes are sealed with masking tape! Explains why it ran like a pig at times!:coocoo

I have a JoeV airbox mod I'm going to install in the '98. But the foam mold that goes over the intake holes is shot, broken and not as new. Does anyone have a solution to refurbish the foam? My intent is to use regular weather stripping type foam. But, I was wondering if the rubbery auto...

:O Hoping that you can identify this hose. Lifted the airbox for the first time today and found a small hose that doesn't go anywhere and it looks like it has been cut off and sealed. Hopefully the pic is clear enough:banghead Thanks

Still considering the air box mod to remove the actuators. have just fitted the TRE so that's fixed one thing. :) I have noticed loads of people list the airbox mod on their sigs, does it really help that much? or did you do it then think, why did I even bother?!

I took my airbox lid off today but imo it was a bit to loud so ive started to do the joe v airbox mod. I have removed the flappers and the actuators but is there a reason why to fill the actuator holes? I have read that people drill holes in the airbox to get a little bit more noise so wouldnt...

I've just done the airbox mod on my S and it definately seems to be a tad punchier but I'm a bit concerned now that it is going to be running a lot leaner than before as that huge restriction is now gone. Is this the case? I have a PCII which I can use to richen it if necessary or is there a map...

I'm planning to do the aibox mod this winter, but i think i have an airleak on the hose running to the valve in airbox. If i remove all the hoses thats pointed out in the airbox mod, and removes the flapper in airbox. First question: Can i then drive the bike, without problems until i get time...

It's in good shape, still has the ram-air tube foam and the IAT sensor. There are a couple of scratches on the top and it's missing the flapper actuator valves (couple of screws missing as well). I bought it as a spare, in case my Joe-V mod went south. Yours for $30 plus shipping.
