    Questionemc french suspension...

    Hi again...

    ...does anyone have any reviews of a french shock manufacturer called EMC?
    ...i've been offered a shock at a good price - around £350

    ..internet says there not too far behind ohlins / white power...
    (i'll wait for the replies!!!?)

    Green / Black 97 TLS - mods done.... Rear - Bitubo shock (13kg/mm), Front - standard forks (+0.87 kg front springs), 1/5th grip insert, 5w oil in steering damper, 190/55 rear tyre, 17-43 EK MVXZ chainset with speedo healer, gutted airbox, 98+ thermo housing with bypass T-piece and 92'c stat, 98+ breather setup, Matts ATRE, FI Tuner PRO, 95'c fan switch, Sams welded clutch mod, Art alloy cans, Oxford Hotgrips, Baglux Tank cover, hump-less with OE passenger grab handle. LED side lights, proper horn (from my old van!), Datatagged / transponder immobiliser / disc lock. Alarmed shed. Just under 23K happy miles, now running on Bridgestone BT-015s...

    only heard good things about em the stuff looks great too
    TL1000SV(97),tlr motor with 1040 bore kit,,radiused inlets,flowed heads,modded airbox with tlr bell mouths,k & n filter,,,57mm downpipes with matching one off cans, + and ground mods.pc3 with custom map,gsxr radial front end, ohlins rear shock,tlr swingarm,metzeler racetecs(rear 190/55/17)two teeth up on rear sprocket.

    I know them

    but there are 3 models for the TLS:
    S56 : keep the OEM SOAS , compression and rebound coupled
    S109 : spring and shock (like TLR) compression and rebound coupled
    S109B : like S109 but high and low speed compression (rebound) separated

    Hi!
    I own one, and as far as I never rode with the rotary, I can only say that is good...
    No problem so far
    But the model I have requires that you keep the original spring.
    it is a good balance.

    from that link the cheaper one is over 500 squid new - depends on the condition and where it comes from I suppose..
    Personally I think 50 to 100 quid less may be more appropriate for a secondhand unit - after all you might need a re-build in 6 months...

    A brand new Hagon is 100 quid less...
    Red, the ONLY Colour.....for a 1997 TLS.....
    (1) Sold the old girl now ....... she will be missed...


    (2) UNO frame & swinger with 1040 Bimota (aka TLR) engine running 17x40 teeth, Hydraulic clutch conversion, Billet wndowed clutch cover & cut plate spinner, Dunlop tyres, PC3, TLS bodywork, GSXR750-TT forks with custom Wilbers springs etc, Nissin brake calipers all round, front ones radial, radial Nissin clutch & brake masters, GSXR1000 K5 clocks, PVM lightweight wheels, LED lights all round, Full Yoshi exhaust system, Carbon cans, Yoshi rearsets, K&N air filter, Wilbers custom rear shock, Custom paint job. Skidmarx bellypan, Low profile rear seat hump, MotoX bars, all round (literally) nice guy.

    (3) Bog standard BMW R1150RT.

    (4) Boxes of many parts waiting to be made into 2 more TLS's.

    I’ve just changed a Failed EMC damper with a Yamaha R1 version off a 2004 , absolutely amazing upgrade !!!
