TL's did not run in the World Superbikes, but the engine did, it was in a Bimota and it won one race with Anthony Gobert as the rider at Phillip Island.

Honda build a VTR and Suzuki build TLR for competed in World Superbike. The reglament was favoring the V-TWIN and Japan built V-TWIN. Suzuki failed?

    No, Suzuki didnt really fail.

Budget faild, and they decided fgoing with a new engine configuration was more expensive than continue with their old Inline 4 (aka GSXR750).

So, 1 year race and non of those improvements they figured out ever came to the streetbike benefit.
A TLR v1.2 would prolly have been a major update just like the SP2 (VTR)compared to the SP1.

Just checked and the link in this thread is still good:

    https://www.tlzone.net/forums/tl1000s...eos-cheap.html

Frank gave some great articles on some national racers (German) here:

    https://www.tlzone.net/forums/tl1000s...rance-tlr.html

So it's pretty much all privateers on the National level. One fact, that I can't remember who on the board turned us on to, was that a TLR ridden by the late Frank Wilson in the Canadian Superbike Series set the track record at Shannonville Motorsport Park...What I thought was cool was that he set the record in '99 and it wasn't broken until 2006 (McBain-GSXR1000).

There's data and vids out there somewhere.

I saw them run in AMA Superbike at Daytona in '98 at Bike Week.
It's about control skill; this is a motorized dance for joy and not Russian roulette.
