    Fuel pump wiring

Hey guys. I pulled my tank because gas was detected weeping onto the top of the rear cylinder. I see that the wires running from the tank to the connector are Deteriorating. I need to replace this pigtail. Is this available or do I have to make one? I am sure I am not the only one to have experience this wiring problem given the amount of heat in this area.

Since the wire feedthrus are hermetically sealed to the pump plate, the obvious option is to replace the pump plate assembly.
Of course, if there is enough good wire to work with, you could fabricate a pigtail.

    I'll add the obligatory...

Please solder and heat shrink the connections...

And don't work with heat near the bottom of the gas tank.

If you do decide to pull the fuel plate like Six suggests, it is the perfect time to do the external fuel filter modification.
