    tearing down motor, sides of pistons

    Just a query, this is the piston from intake. its getting torn down as output shaft. These small indentations , will they need to get smoothed out, and I assume the barrel shows signs as well.

    give it a light rub with 1200 to remove the high spots .

    the low spots dont matter


    its from metal floating in the motor

    probably the output shaft bearing in your case

    I have inside info the output bearing has let go.

    lol....possibly, but i heard the R model each year was more powerful than the last they produced, so maybe something to do with that...
