Bump starting your bike...BAD???
Crazy what I heard today. I learned that you should not bump start your bike with the car running. The car or automobile has too much power running through the wires that could burn out your Stator, Flywheel, Starter Motor, Relay,Rectifier and/or altenator. If that is wrong... Please Correct me. I need all the info I can get.

I've tried this a couple of time along with jump starting a Suzuki mini 4x4 (a grand vitara) with the TL.
Not something you'd want to do too often though..

I'm not too sure, but I'd try the main fuses as well. It could be something simple like that or something more complicated like the other parts you mentioned. It might not burn the flywheel.. cos I don't know how you'd burn one of those...
I'm sure the guys here who know more than I do will pipe in as well.

Well.... Im getting it to start but it relies on the battery to stay running. I can not get it to start on its own anymore. And my brand new batteries die as quick as a week when I ride. SOMETHING having to do with keeping the battery charged during riding has to be the problem.

Not charging the battery sounds like the regulator/rectifier. Maybe try and replace that?

Sounds like the regulator/rectifier. If you have a mate with a TL that can test it on ur bike do that first, or you could try the Zippys charging mod in the frequent mods section as the wiring on these old girls tends to turn the crap.
