It means the LED only lights up when something is wrong.
There is no 'glitch' that is normal, something isn't right. The dealer is wrong for taking money for fixing it when it's not fixed. The LED should be off and stay off.

Yeah man, sounds like a regulator/rectifier problem. CBR's are common for it as the earlier one's didn't have fins on the box which caused them to overheat. I know of people who have fitted GSXR regulator's to their Honda's. If you start the bike with jump leads and it runs ok, and then after you dissconnect the jump leads the bike dies, it almost certainly sounds like regulator/rectifier fault.

Hey Steve, thank you very much for that page. That's an incredible resource. I printed it AND bookmarked it. Unfortunately the FI light was one of the things I had the dealer check when they replaced the stator.
They said they took care of whatever the error code(s) was indicating, but it still didn't stop the light from coming on once in a while. Before they "fixed" it the error would come up the first time you started the bike. Then I'd shut it down and restart and the error would be gone. It doesn't affect the bike in any way. The bike does nothing out of the ordinary when that light comes on. Before I had the stator replaced I took the bike out for a test run with the FI light off. It actually came on while I was riding and that's when I decided I had to go to a dealer.
After they fixed what they thought was the problem, it was still happening but didn't seem as bad. It didn't come on as I was riding but it would still start up with the error once in a while. They told me to ride the bike in if I got the error and not turn the bike off. I guess the TL bikes don't store the errors as Gixxers do. Of course it happened again and I rode it in, left the bike running, and they took it back and ran the diagnostic. It was the same error as before (I don't know which code it was) that they already addressed. They said not to worry about it as it must be some sort of glitch causing it. And this is a very reputable and probably the largest Suzuki dealer in CO!
So anyway, thanks for the help. I didn't mean to make this a book. It's just frustrating and worrying to have a problem like that.

whats up brah? are you still having this problem. I had the same problem and now i got it fixed. all of a sudden my battery was dying and i would have to jump start it. well i was not sure what the problem was so i would just charge the battery at night so i could still ride the next day. Long story short i changed the rectifier and my volt meter was telling me the battery was charging, but only at an idle. so i road it. Did the same thing. The rectifier was a bitch to change too, for it not to solve my problem. then i changed the stater/stator how ever its spelled. that fixed it right away. and it is the most simple thing to change yourself too. just unplug the old one, plug in the new one right under the seat. i could have saved so much money just trying that first. I just bought a used one on ebay and my worries are over. it was like 30-40 bucks and ten mins to change it. Hope this helps ya. holla at me. peace.

correction, it was the rectifier that i changed last that made it work. the stator did not change anything. plust the stator is a pain in the ass to change.
