Doing something for our safety .. Wow

Well its only Spain, but hopefully the idea might catch on here ... I doubt it as it would cost money and thats something our government wont do.

I can't see them doing it here either. Too busy rolling out wire rope barriers.

Saw this in the related video's http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=7f0_1185427893 looks like a couple of other riders were too busy to stop too.

There's some anti-biker comments there...

And, those nice i-beam vertical style guardrail posts are what keep me from railing some really nice on/off ramps. Unfortunate that the smoothest turns have the most dangerous guardrails.

In Holland these barriers are being placed here and there. Certainly not everywhere, but there is a start! MAG (Motorcyclists Action Group) really did there best to make it happen

Maybe it can be an example for counties where they are doubtfull about placing them?

Well they have started putting up the cheese wire ones in the UK .. Dread to think of the mess if you hit one of them.

The thing you'll have to remember though, is those barriers will only be rated for the posted speed limit. Won't do much for the idiot going 2x or 3x the posted limit.

thar looks geat! simple cheap solution.

on a seperate note the wire ropes are a lot better for motorcyclists than the steel ones. theres a lot of very uninformed debate surrounding the wire barriers. they are designed to stop traffic passing onto the wrong side of the road which they do very effectively. im sure they save a lot more riders than they kill. motorcyling councils and lobby groups need to wake up and start pushing for something like the barrior protection in that clip and stop whinging about wire barriors.

hi!
here in France, that kind of "double" setup appears on some curves, only in the ones where some crashes occured and where the radius is compliant.
It is definitely safer than conventional ones .......
