    Project TLS

    Hi Everybody,

Well after a hard period of time in life, which has now passed for the time being. Im back building or "putting together a project"

I decided to go down the TLS route this time, just for something different, all TL's are my cuppa tea R or S so either motorcycle didnt bother me.

Well here we go a little bit about the original Bike:

    Black TL1000S.
    15000 miles.
    No Tax or MOT.
    Really poor bodywork.
No service history or record for maintenance.
To give an idea of her overall condition!!!!!

Right!! got her home spent a few moments together and then began the "project" as Hot Chocolate said "it started with a kiss" haha

Admittedly she had been sat for what i can gather in a back yard for around 18Months, Not ran and untouched due to a wiring issue which is starter relay directed.
To give an idea of its idle state for around 18months.

I did not spend the time trying to get her running, I dropped the oil on purchase which was crystal clear so i was semi sure it was at the very least a good motor.

Some images of the strip, but also to give a good idea of her condition.

    One Engine and one Chassis!!!!

    One TLS in parts.

One TLS engine for service and repair!!!

Well after a complete check of the original frame she has taken a bad knock to the headstock area which has created a couple of cracks..................................

But on a lighter note a new frame has been supplied by a invaluable TLZONE member, cant thank enough for the help and time. MEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Old frame with the crack.

    Bad Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

New frame with all the transfered nuts and bolts buffed and greased correclty, although this is a picture, I cant stress the amount of work it took to get her looking fresh and also all the weathered trim and nuts and bolts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well upto now, Yes its been a graft but there is the makings of something very nice indeedy.

Im unsure on improvements and other bits and bats, but its important to me the input of the zone is incorporated in one way or the other so i can only thank you for your help in advance.

    MUCHAS GRASSY BUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Welcome back
    Doesn't seem 3 mins,lol

Well as it's stripped nekked, get scouring eBay for Ducati 848/1098 shocks, and mount on rotary damper mount on tls swinging arm
Or see sparky and get him to get your tls arm braced and shock tabs moved to center
Then the compulsory gsxr forks,or as sparky has said zx10 are same size
Exhaust is a tricky one, I'd turn Tue standard into slipon, then I'd be enquiring to the people who did the cans for the 900ss on pg40/41 in mcn this week
    Just a few thoughts
Who's fkin happy??.?? not me said snow white.WP rear damper gsxr k4/5 forks with gold calipers ,blackshadow discs, soon to be a hid/projector headlight,Harris adjustable rearsets,,pc2 k&n, zero limits seat hump, folding levers, mattyj clear clutch cover, rifleman 1/5th insert, more to come ..........

    Thanks Gaz,

Almost back on the right foot now, affording a newer bike is a no no, so i decided to find summink cheap and build it into something affordable and budget the bike to my pocket!

Felt a bit lost without a motorbike to keep one occupied.

    Cheers fella
