    Guess work really

One tip to help.fitting, wind the rebound up to max and compress the damper,it'll let you get it all in place
Then fit it without the bracket and set rebound about half way, then fit the bracket

a couple of things, it was going really well, much better/quicker than I had anticipated and then the bolt which holds the subframe to the main frame snapped right in the middle !!! what a bummer, I will have to wait now until I fetch my Dremmel from home to complete. only took me a couple of hours.

I am assuming that I will wind both comp & rebound to middle then half a turn hard to start with as I am about 15 stone and work from there.

there doesn't appear to be much "travel" on the damper, only about 2cm (with the rubber wiper/cleaner in place). should I cut away the wiper/cleaner or at least reduce it to increase travel possibilities?

    Yes remove the bump stop
Or if you want leave a thin slice
