I'm back
Well guys, thanks for all the messages of support and good wishes.
Last night I got transferred to Stepping Hill Hospital (ward D2), which is only 3 miles from home. The facilities here are a bit more sophisticated and I've got internet access from my bed! Its good to be back in touch.
The care I received at Liverpool was excellent and I made some good progress with physio and OT. They got me in a wheelchair which meant no more bed pans or bed baths (not an enjoyable experience, even with an attractive nurse, and especially not with a catheter stuck up your john thomas) and my first shower in 3 weeks!
So now I face 3-4 weeks in hospital with before I'm allowed home, then probably at least another month before I'll be out and about, learning to walk again - crutches for some time I guess.
If anyone is in the vicinity I'd be very pleased to have visitors!
I can't wait to have a nice cold pint of lager, a glass of red wine and a decent curry!! The idea of a wheelchair pubcrawl sounds great!
Its taken some effort to type this, especially with the crappy little keyboard - I need a rest.
A big thank you to John, for keeping TLZ updated, for his support, visits and help, not to mention the loan of DVD player and varied selection of films (if you're into sick horror, try 'Mum and and Dad')!
Oh, the TL is still in the garage (needs a good clean), I was on the SuperDuke (total loss write-off) and had come to the conclusion on my way home after the day's ride that it was the best bike I've ever ridden. So what does the future hold? I don't know, but I've got plenty of time to think about it.
Tim

Nice to hear from you Tim. Sounds like your in good spirits. I imagine every new day is a better one. "Pub crawl in a wheelchair" an opportunity to drink and drive sounds like fun, enjoy.
