Hi Kev,
Agree we would need to be in or around the Douglas area.
Most of the times I have been there I have used Homestay accomodation.
This is like B&B but run by ordinary folk who let their rooms & also provide breakfast as well.
The place we stayed the last 3 years we had en-suite as well, all for £22 pp per night, bargain.
Wouldn't expect to find a place like that again though.
Will also depend on the No of people going.
A list of Homestay accomodation is available through Tourist Information, there are plenty of them, but this info isn't available until late on in the year.
Ferry will also need booking, some book while at the TT for the next year, so all the best sailing slots go first.
In the past I have travelled out mid week of practice week & returned Thursday of race week due to the ferries being booked up at the weekends.
The place just dies after Friday night & is just a depressing place to be if you're still stuck there on Saturday/Sunday.
Anyone else got any thoughts?
Philip.

Same here, I would only be interested in race week, 2 weeks is too much holiday to use when the wife and kids aren't sharing it

Well i suggested it here down in Melbourne and had some people interested as well. Have found an agent who has found the house in douglas that sleeps up to 8. some from NZ want to tag along as well, so we will see when the final price is out. We have to wait unil end of july to find the airfare price as cant book until roughly then. So the aim here is to fly from here, over and up to scotland, pick up bikes, meander down to isle, stay there, leave and ride back up, get plane home, with snap shots. done!.

I did the Sydney old road today, and as we were about to set off from Pie in the Sky I went to put in some ear plugs but, strangely none in any of the pockets of my leathers. Oh well thinks I must have fallen out in the twisties Then tonight I'm just putting a glass of water by the bedside for my missus, and what do I see ....
