Exclamation Turbo Tl1000s

Call me stupid but i am currently in the process of turboing my tls 97'mod, unfortunatly i cant seem to find any real usefull info or any previouse projects ( i must be the only fool to actually do it ) does any one know of any sites that claim or have turboed a TL1000 ?
so far im just keeping very low buget as i dont know how the engine will respond !
1st fitted garrett t 28 but still havent completed exaust system
2nd fitting a smc1 aultronic ems
then i plan to run 7psi max and see what happens im hope full that it will work to my expectations (150bhp)justifying a proper job at a later date.
Why you ask? just because i have the turbo and the autronic and im getting bored with the bang factor Why not give it ago !

ps excuse spelling and gramma !

im considering putting a turbo on mine and have not been able to find much info on it on line either.

hmm.no to the best of my knowledge noone has successfully done it. You will have to change pistons, i do know this. If you dont you will blow something up. if you are interested i could talk to a local guy here who does custom turbos for bikes. he has been lookin at turboin my other tl.

would be good if you could or even post their phone number!
as far as blowing somthing up ,Its not a big concern for me as the motor has 75,000ks with a lot of over reving silly me took a long time to get the hang of a twin.
my concerns are more to do with as follows
1 the injectors will they cope with 7psi boost and supply enough fuel quick enough
2 the "v" configeration i have moded 14 cars with large turbo's but never a "v" twin engine
3 oil pressure as boost will increase oil temps and soil it far quicker!
4 radiator and water pump as i plan to simply use original set up and "t' off to turbo i wonder how hot it will get under load
5 pistons and rods i hope they take 7psi for short term testing but more worring for me is the main crank bearings as most wreakers can supply loads of seized motors Why is it so common to seize tl's(surely the vast majority of riders add oil and dont wheelie that far )

blowing a motor i can live with but crashing cause of motor failure is going to be a big risk just bolting a turbo to standard motor, tuning and hoping for the best is what im doing !

There where a South African dude who Turboed his TLS. and, it cant be done with stock interior of the TLS. But this was 2-3 years ago I read aboout it and I honestly dont remember much of it.

I think there was some bearings that flew to the moon and back...

All I remember is that a stock TL engine is only good to about 150 rear wheel hp, give or take a few. (The R that is, I know redicolous little about the TLS considering Ive been around here a couple of years...)

IF you're prepared to lose lots of money trying, I'd suggest you start with a smaller turbo ... something like off a 1.3 litre turboed Charade or one of those Capucino cars.

I am thinking of turboing my TLR next year, mainly to save money on nitrous refills! Do not believe anybody who says it cant be done, it will break etc.......I have spoken to two of the top guys in the uk on the subject and mine will be running a fairly low pressure turbo setup next year funds permitting! i currently run a MPS racing dry nitrous setup and was told that the motor wouldnt last long by so called tuning guru,s here in the uk, well i have to tell you after approx 250 to 300 passes all on nitrous it still lives and still runs 10.40s without gas and 9.7s with.........watch this space!!
