Don't know what bike he has, but I think the R missed out on the under-the-top-triple-dampers?
CFB1 - The OEM ones are heavy.. I fitted longer Delrin ones.
(Doug, the bars are handy for mounting controls onto as well )

I have an 99 S.
Why remove those heavy std. ones.
isn't it their purpose to eliminate numb fingers and avoid vibrations or am i wrong??

after market bar ends gave me numb fingers. the stock ones are the right weight to reduce the vibrations that cause numb fingers.
as far as the throttle cables go if they are 2 tight i.e. if there is no or to little play in them they can transmit vibrations from the engine to the bars.
another member posted that i forget who but i have always liked very little play in the throttle so i looseded mine a bit and it definitaly helped. when i got my TL it had after market bar ends and i couldnt go any more than 15min without having to stick the throttle lock on and exersise the numbness out of my fingers. now i get no numbness what so ever.

I got them cheap enough to be able to try as an experiment. I didn't notice any extra vibration or numb fingers and left them on.

I had them on my 99S with a cut down seat. some improvement but not much. I'm fightered now on my 98S with a renthal fat bar. much better seating position for my taste and riding style but still working on numbness from vibration.
