Angry A little frustrated with TL1000R

Yesterday I did the Charging mod. Thank you Gheto but I think it works

Heavy gauge wire, you can't even notice it after the fairing went back on

Today for the first time since i can remember the TL started by it's own power
Thank you TLZone

Now for the frustrated part, Today my bike will not go over 6k Rpm.

Today as I went to pass , at of all things a semi truck, I kicked it down to 5th gunned it and when my bike got to 6k rpm it had nothing left it just stayed there.
I had to go in to 6th gear to Pass the truck quick.
What could it be? fuel pump? fuel filter?

Both cylinders firing? Running as normal, just won't go above 6K? I'd start with your charging mod, provided it was getting above 6k before that.

Re-trace your wires, see what all you're tapped into make sure there's nothing dodgy there. If you can't find anything, remove the wiring you added and see how she runs then. If it's all better then you know there's something up with the way you're doing the mod.

good luck,
C

it could be the bike in "Go Slow" mode as part of a campaign of industrial action called by the TL union until such time as you give in to your TL's demands and give it a nice wash. And not just the outside the bits either from what I've heard the union is demanding a "full Monty" that includes under the faring as well! you can expect the industrial action to ramp up from "Go Slow" to a series of "Rolling stoppages" over the next couple of days. you may also find that your TL and a number of other equally shabby bikes from other affiliated unions may picket your car to make sure you don't go looking of other forms of transport. Be prepared for anything though as I've heard they are mightily annoyed at yourself for getting around their first stage of industrial action (the "slow to start" stage) by bringing in the scabby charging mod.

At 6K the secondary injectors start firing. But if those connections were damaged or something, the ECU would throw a code. Getting 'FI' in the dash?

Also, maybe lifiting the tank has caused some sludge to move down to onto the pump pickup and now the fuel filter is blocked and can pass enough fuel to run properly up higher in the rev range.

When the TL starts treating me right. I'll start treating her right.

Blame the previous owner, not the poor TL. Take your time to go down the checklist of things to check. It sounds like you may have a little work at each stage b/c of prior neglect, but it'll be worth it.

I've not done the "+" mod and intend to do it but tell me this, are you able to directly attach that new mod wire to the intended mount point or did you need to reduce the wire size so it will fit?
