Engine cutting out

I posted a thread yesterday, with my TLS cutting out after I ran out of fuel.

I have replaced the fuel filter and pump (friend had a spare) but this has not helped.

The bikes engine cuts out completely and will not re-start, until left for a while, then start again no problem, this is completely sporadic, rode 30 miles today, then cut out three times on the way home.

I suspect an electrical problem, perhaps a broken / shorting wire or corroded terminal.

Does any one have any thoughts where to start ?

When the bike cuts out, everything else works fine electrically, bike won't start with side stand up or down and the time it needs before re-starting is completely random.

I am at a complete loss and it's driving me nuts!!!!

Try speaking to Ben Curtis he has the same problem everytime he stops at traffic lights his cuts out. I believe he knows what is causing it but has yet to sort it pm him im sure he might be able to point you in the right direction if you have the same problem.

It it doesn't even crank, and the rest of the electrics appear to work I'd be checking the side stand switch. (And then side stand relay, bar kill switch etc). Does it say 'CHEC' in the dash when it cuts out or wont start?

If it cranks but wont fire, does the dash flash up 'FI'? If so put it into dealer mode and find out what the code is. (There's been two recently that have had their Tip over sensors installed up side down). Dealer Mode >>> http://wotid.com/tls/content/view/54/60/

Try wiggling the starter relay harness with the key in the on position and in neutral. Does it click? I.E. loose connection. Clean and die-electric grease it. I permanently modded mine. It's one of those dodgy TL things.

Good luck.
