I'd have an SV650 as a ride around town or buy one (ready to race) as they have their own class here - a couple friends have a lot of fun doing this But it ends there for me. I definately wouldn't buy one to replace the tiller. A mate has the SV1 but only cause he's a short arse and can't touch the ground sitting on the tiller ![]() There is no after the TLR for me, but I'll buy an RC8 or the 1098R as a track whore, when I've saved enough

Odd. My last track day the instructors were all on SV650s and they had no problem flying by all of us
![]() After riding N2's SV, I think it would be the perfect bike for the sub 100 mph road and for track days on anything but the really fast horsepower tracks. The Streets of Willow, and Buttonwillow too for that matter, would be great SV tracks. The SV is the kind of bike that is a giant killer as long as it is tight enough that they can't pull the horsepower card. The SV felt chuckable, a bike I could simply grab by the scruff of the neck and ride the shit out of, soft spongy suspension or not. All that said, lazy bastard that I am, sometimes I just love pulling the throttle cable on my modded FZ1 using the damn horsepower card. ![]()

Whats funny though Duken, is that a quick look at the specs will show that all but the Gixxer 1K are lighter than the SV650, and the 1K only has an additional 2 lbs over the SV.

Not everyone can be comfortable on every bike and for me its a sv650. I traded bike and rode a old street triple with bent bars smoother than I could ride my own. Zx9r same way same weekend of riding. The reach to the clip ons felt all kinds of wrong in agressive riding. I thought of the bar conversion, but didnt want to drop value on a nice little bike and possible still not like it.
Im not the only one. I posted a thread on SVrider too, and there were several owners come foreward saying they are having the same issue. Of course the blame is being tossed around tires and suspension probably still, but I dont doubt a bit it was me not being able to find a comfort zone between me and the suspension without throwing alot more money into a bike I wasnt all that thrilled with to begin with.

Did you ever swap out stock tires? I put some Pilot Powers on my wifes.. wholly crap... the bike handled and did not wallow any longer. Crazy how just the tires made such a HUGE difference. Sorry to hear it did not work for ya.
I too love my wifes bike almost as much as my TL. I did put a stage 1 kit in the carbs and the full race system, and k&n, and heli bars on it. The front is a bit soft, back worked ok. That thing felt like a bicycle on steroids under me when i rode it! ![]()

Yeah I put a set of Diablos on it.
636 rear shock raised rear 1 in jet kit cam swap 9.5 springs and spacers rear geared +2 in the rear Most of that within a month of owning it. I just put the jet kit over the winter. Most that had the bars love them, seems most that had the clipons did bigger conversions to the front end. Maybe if I had bought the other model I would have liked them more. ? ahh 2 more days ![]()

![]() That 929 looks very sweet. It is perhaps the sharpest handling of the Honda literbikes with aweseome front end feel. I think you are gonna love it for showing tail light to lesser riders on newer hardware.
