Hayabusa
ok so ive had my tiller for a couple of years and im by no means bored of it as ive probably dumped another 3500 into mods. but sometimes i dream of riding something else.
so heres the question
my best friend has a 06 busa with low clicks all stock that he wants to trade me straight up for my bike, no money wise i know im winning here a little bit but im more concerned about pure enjoyment.
ive never ridden any street bikes besides my tiller and my gsxr 600 that i started with many moons ago.
just curious if any of you have had any time on hayabusa and whether or not you enjoyed it.
would any of you consider this trade?
im not gonna be able to mod this busa for some time as i have dumped all my time and money into my tiller and i just dont have any more money to do it to the busa for the next couple years (i just bought a house)
any help would be appreciated
tim

Unless you plan on dragging the bike, yee shan't really need to mod the Bus - As an FYI, I traded my Tiller in on a '06 Busa years back and never thought twice or looked back - It is a bit more work in the tight stuff but if you can muscle a tiller thru, you can do the same with a Bus - To this day, I still cannot compare anything I have personally felt to the all out throw momma from the train pull you get in 2nd at about 70 mph and crack that thing hard - Front end will lift to a comfortable level and then it is hold on and power shift all the way thru
I had an '06 and put on the Full HMF Single with the CF Highmount and PC3 - I have never felt anything like it - I even took it thru Deals Gap and was just fine - A bit more work than the 1K's and 600's but confy as the day is long

Keep the TL. That's just my opinion. You put time and effort into it, anyone can go to a dealer and buy a busa. I rode one a few times and yes they are fast and very smooth though the power, but I got back on my TLS and was in heaven. The busa seems very long and heavy - with A LOT of power, but if I traded for a TLS it would only be with the intention of selling the busa and buying another TLS - since you say he is your friend you should just keep your TL and keep customizing it. If you want another ride look for a 1k inline or a motard (none will be like your TLR though).

Yep,it will be a LOT faster, more comfortable and more refined. But for my money I would get bored with it before long-just like the last I-4 I had.So why do you reckon your mate wants to swap

Buy the BUSA but keep the TILLER if you can.I added a busa last fall to the fleet and love it but my tiller is just a diffrent ride, sound, and feel. still don`t know if I had to give up one if I could part with my tiller. Sorry I didn`t realy help just thought I would give my 2 cents.

The only way i would consider a BUSA is for more comfort when touring . You've customised your tiller, and you know the bike well (i presume)...
There's a lot to be said for the Devil ya know... Specially considering you've just bought a new pad

Which one.....
If you can keep the tiller and buy the busa as well, they are very different bikes as they both have good and bad points. I had the Busa first and added the tiller later on - comfy and fast on the Busa, agility and all senses alive on the tiller
Cheers Ozzie

As a busa owner and i've ridden a TL several times, I believe it is really up to your riding style. If you wanna take the curves and pop wheelies here and there keep the TL. If you like to haul ass in straight lines, drag race or just have a nice sport tourer buy the hayabusa. Only you can make the decision for that. Me personally if I could have both I would.
