I went from a suz. 500 in 1970 to a 650 hammer 71 to a 850GS in 81 to 1100 midnight special 82 to 920 (vulgar) Hammer,worst bike made.. back to a GS1000g 82,quit riding tell 2004 ,went to a DL1000 13000miles in 10 months,got lots of head shake over 150mph went to what I really wanted the Hayabusa 2005, put 51000 miles on it and then bought a SV1000S.The SV is ok for short rides but if your like me and a short ride is at least 200 miles and you have the chance to pick up a Busa You will never want to ride anything else. I took my first ride on the Busa a 10 day ride which came to 6387 miles,I was in Love,the only thing I changed on the bike was 3/4in. bar riser which I made my self .My old wrist needed the help .I put a power commander,K&N,and yoshi r3 cans.in the flat lands I would get 39 to 42 mpg at 95 to 130 mph,but in the rocky Mts I was getting 45 to 55  ?The only thing I can say bad about a Busa is make sure your clutch is in all the way when shifting from 1st to 2nd Or you will be putting a new trans in it I put 2 in mine but my warrenty covered it both times. |

If the bus is so much more value, then swap, sell and get another tricked out R (or something similar like a SP1/SP2 if you really feel like a change) + the extra cash. Depends on the type of riding you do... bus is not my cup of tea, I would sell it right away.

What about trading for a little while? Then come to an agreement that if either of you crashes the bike, the other gets to keep the one they're on, straight up. I don't think he would be real excited to see you sell the Busa, buy another TL, and pocket the extra cash. That's better for you, but if he is a friend I think he would see that as a d**k move.
I don't know, that could just be me?
