I have been doing some reading up on the raptor....it doesnt quite have the power of the TL1000 does it? more like an SV right?

yup, around 100-105 hp...
no differences to the TL engine, apart from a slightly smaller airbox, and a different exhaust system. ECU might be different too, but there's no gain in power with a TLS ECU... mind you, it pulls better than a TLS because of the 16-40 ratio.

The airbox I think is actually straight off a TL, but is missing the inlet tubes which may be the problem. Sam has commented on his race bike that he seems to lose power if he doesn't have them fitted, and as the Cagiva uses some bizarre covers with mesh on them (which do pull off) it may be worth giving a pair of TLS tubes a go?
