The reason I was trying this is to maybe get every bit of horsepower possible with other mods I have done or will be doing this winter. So far I have done an air box mod, cobra fue inj. programmer, viper cans, tre, Factory pro adv. 4 degree. The flywheel/rotor and starter gear are being lightened in the next weeks. I am also looking into buying tlr heads and cams someday. My wife always says I dont know when too leave stuff alone, guess she is right! P.S. Surprising how much better the bike runs with the little bit I have done to it.And I forgot to mention the tb on my year sv are 52mm so Im going on the theory of bigger is better.

Simple man...

Does the 03 and the 05 SV1000 share the same part for the Power Commander?

YES - Install n try it out... Dyno tune the Power Commander to give you the appropiate amount of fuel...

NO - Install the 05 ECU, and Power Commander... Dyno tune the Power Commander to give you the appropiate amount of fuel...

Luis

Check the parts fiche, to see if they use the same rubber manifolds to attach it to the head. Or are they only bigger about the throttle plate.

Yes I did manage to install the 54mm in place of the 52mm throttle bodies. It seams that their no differance in outside measurements , the inside has more material removed to give it 54mm capassity. And I dont use a power comander I use the cobra FI2000 (it was more in my budgetat the time) which ran lean until I turned up the fuel.Once I did that it seamed to help with power ,I.E. faster acceleration.Next step is to lighten fly wheel.

Im going into my forth year on this bike but I havent had it on a dyno yet. I did see a figure early today on another 03' sv1000 and it had 100 rear wheel H.P. I think, it was all stock. This next summer my plan is to get on the dyno and see how well Ive done with my mods.

Is not just to see how your numbers are... The point of a dyno is to have the best possible map for your engine wit everything your engine is running...

It cost about $250.00 and they do several dyno runs until they tune your EFI the best way possible.

A lot of people care about peak HP, that is kind of meaning less if it is just a spike... You want a smooth power line, with no dead spots or spikes...

I would go to a near by track day event and ask who is tunning all the race bikes... Pay what he ask... You be glad you did...
