Cheap Tailgate Strap to keep it partially open

    Hey fellow riders,
I remember seeing a tailgate bar at an off-road show that keeps the tailgate partially open. This was done so that you can load your dirt bikes/road bikes and close your tailgate partially so that other stuff in the bed of the truck does not go flying out. I remember the cost being about $20. I tried searching for it and only found this site

    ...
Don't get me wrong. The product looks awesome and I would love to get it, but $50... Yikes a little expensive for my blood. Anyway I decided to make one that will cost a fraction of the cost. Here is what I came up with. I just thought I would share it with you guys. Cost me $5.69 to do this.

Hope it helps some of you guys.

If you have access to a tow along air compressor, they use something called whipchecks to keep the air lines attached should they accidentally become disconnected... They are great for stuff like this.

Important point to remember. Most tailgates are designed to come off at a certain angle. So adjust the length of the cable either more or less than the angle it comes off at and u should be fine. I don't want ur tailgate to fly off when u hit a bump. This is very important. Sorry I did not mention it before.
