Buell Adds Model Finder to Sell Last 1,302 Bikes

If you didn’t receive the email, Harley-Davidson has sent out a notice that only 1,302 Buell Motorcycles remain in circulation in the United States. Helping would-be owners find the Buell of their dreams at a dealer near them, Buell’s website now features a model finder, which shows the model availability on a state-by-state basis.
Once you select your state you can not only see how many total Buells remain, but also which dealerships have your desired bike and in what color(s). For instance there is only one black 1125CR left in California (we call dibs).

A Kourier has to establish space on the pavement. Predictable law-abiding behaviour lulls drivers. They mentally assign you to a little box in the lane, assume you will stay there, can't handle it when you leave that little box.
Y.T. is not fond of boxes. Y.T. establishes her space on the pavement by zagging mightily from lane to lane, establishing a precedent of scary randomness. Keeps people on their toes, makes them react to her, instead of the other way round.

Supra, You ever ridden a Buell? Owned one? I have and think the world of them. Very well mannered in the twisties and more than powerful enough for the street. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but, you know what they say about opinions right? just wish they had a chance to put the Rotax in all of their models, like the above mentioned Ulysses. That would have been a sweet bike.

It says there is 5 left in Wichita. I want one but I can't afford to buy one. I am greatly disappointed that they stopped production of them.

I had 2 of them. My first bike was a Buell Blast. It began leaking oil from the base gasket at 500 miles, and went downhill from there. Electronics failed, oil leaks from every gasket....I put a total of 18,000 miles on it, nursing it along all of the way. Being my first bike, I thought this was normal. I was led to beleive it was a baseline/entrylevel/disposable bike, so I put a down on an XB9R before they were released.
I got to take a few rides at the annual LB Bike show before I got mine. It was a bitchen ride, responsive, precise, torquey, compact...
The day mine arrived in the shop in my color, it didn't even make it home before it broke down. That thing almost killed me. It cut out in the #1 lane of traffic doing 50. I got 4 miles from the dealer.
I called the dealer, they came and picked the bike up, and I demanded that my contract be terminated, claiming it was a lemon. I bought a Ducati Monster on the way home from the dealer.
At the dealer, I spoke to 3 other guys dropping of their Buells. All have been repeat visitors for problems with the bike.
Buel has a great philosophy and some serious huevos to implement them to the masses. Harley was the step behind for every two taken forward.
Harley contracts out to a lot of companies to get parts. It seems like too many different companies, all being the lowest bidders. They have the highest recall rate, poor service, lousy attitudes, and half-ass products. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Since then, I have had a Ducati, an Aprilia, 2 Hondas, and 2 Suzukis, putting on a cumulative total of over 150,000 miles in 10 years. "Brand X" bikes they may be, Japanese engineering is without a doubt the most reliable and maintenance free in my experience.
I also am an MSF Ridercoach. Between the ERC and BRC, opportunities to hear from all walks of life in the motorcycle community about real-world bike experiences.
There are always exceptions to the rule, but most individuals who have put 6 digits of miles on throughout a riding carreer will vouch that BMW and Japanese bikes are the way to go. Everything else is just a novelty.
{end rant}

Supra, Iam sorry to hear you had problems with the Buells you have had. I agree they werent the most reliable as far as the dealers are concerned. I am well versed in the chrome is king dealings of the local HD shop. After awhile I just ordered what I needed through ASB in Cali. I did not mean to offend you as I reread my post and it sounded rather smartass. Im always hearing half-assed comments on the Buells simply made by people who never have had or ridden one. Hell, nobody around here even knew what my X1 was until I explained it was made by a visionary company and owner who was under HD's thumb. So with that in mind, I have heard from yet another educated rider who actually did have problems with his new bike. Its sad to think that they let this dream die. I had hoped it would continue without HD's incessant toying. When the new Rotax motor was used I thought they were on the way. I guess not.
