Motion Pro Brake Lever Recall
Motion Pro Brake Lever Recall
August 27th, 2008 by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" Motion Pro has issued a recall for brake levers designed to fit many Suzuki motorcycle models from 1999 to 2008. Please read the details below for a list of specific models. This recall only pertains to aftermarket Motion Pro brake levers and has no relation to any original equipment installed on Suzuki motorcycles. Manufacturer: Motion Pro, Inc. Models affected: Motion Pro / 14-0415 9999 Suzuki / DL1000 2002-2007 Suzuki / DL650 2004-2007 Suzuki / GSF1200S 2001-2005 Suzuki / GSF600S 2000-2003 Suzuki / GSX1300R 1999-2007 Suzuki / GSXR1000 2001-2004 Suzuki / GSXR600 2001-2003 Suzuki / GSXR750 1999-2003 Suzuki / SV1000 2003-2005 Suzuki / SV1000S 2003-2007 Suzuki / SV650 1999-2003 Suzuki / SV650S 1999-2008 Suzuki / TL1000R 1999-2003 NHTSA Campaign Number: 08E052000 Potential Units Affected: 10000 Problem: Motion Pro is recalling 10,000 aftermarket brake levers, model no. 14-0415, sold for use on certain model year 1999-2008 Suzuki motorcycles. The lobe height on some of these levers are smaller and do not properly engage the stop lamp switch which will not deactivate when the driver releases the brake lever. If this occurs, the stop lamp will remain on which could possibly result in a crash. This recall only pertains to aftermarket Motion Pro brake levers and has no relation to any original equipment installed on Suzuki motorcycles. Corrective Action: Motion Pro will notify owners and provide a free remedy. The recall is expected to begin during August 2008. Owners may contact Motion Pro at 650-594-9600. More... |
