Pentax Lens/ebay
I sat up all night in case i couldnt get up in the morning for this auction, bidding was crazy in the last few seconds but i had to have it. Not much unless you know your pentax lenses. Works with all slr and dslr cameras. So i ended up paying just under $1000 so i am very happy! Small enough to carry around , only thing it does not have is autofocus. One of the best pentax lenses ever made Pentax SMC A*300 mm F4 (production from 1984-1989) YAY

Hi mate,,i have a pentax K10d , nothing special but with this lens that is another story. This lens is quite small ,camera and lens would still fit in normal size camera bag , easy carry around with 300mm of superb optics! Actually a bit more than 300mm on a dslr camera.

I have a sony alpha 350 . I love that it thinks for me. ITSMESTEVE has given me quite alot of insight , now I need practice . I think I'll never need a lens that good with my abilities.

Old Glass
The pictures here International North-West 200 were taken with a Pentax K100D dSLR and an old Tamron 300mm lens (cost me £50 about 7 years ago).
Most were taken at 30 metre range at between f8 and f5.6. Shutter speed was around 1/2000 of a second and the anti-shake was on. I had to bump the ISO up to about 800 to compensate for an overcast day.
You don't have to spend a fortune to get reasonable results.

http://www.keh.com/onlinestore/home.aspx Their prices are dirt cheap, they give great descriptions of the items, and have lots of pictures. I think they're back east somewhere. One of my old work buddies buys and sells from them...awesome deals and ridiculously huge selection...

great pics snooker , nothing wrong with Tamron lenses!

I took these with the 300mm lens pictured , had to walk back about 20 meters just to get in frame , and about 10 meters for the brake pic. Couldnt be bothered changeing lenses
