***RACE UPGRADE ON TLR MOTOR***

Hi,

Due to the lack of power on my bike compare to 1098 DUC's race bikes, I am obliged to developp new solution in way to improove the engine efficency. I remember you, that I have arlready inside :
* Specific camshafts with vernier
* Head flowed job
* five angles on seat valves job
* Squish setted and compression ratio at 13.5:1
* Hermit dragon air box in carbon
* PC II with specific map optimized for the full throttle position
* 2 in 1 full exhaust in 57 mm
* Yoshimura magneto rotor 1 phase ultra light (350gr with ignition bracket! )
* 100 LL fuel gas
* No engine motor starter, no free wheel, when I'll have the time I wil take some pics of that

With that I have roughly 152 HP in the cranck, but there is still a big gap with 189 HP of DUC's, so I have choose the way like us to over bore my cylinder, and I project to put new pistons in 105 mm thanks to JE R&D who can supply me with this specific bore, and with suitable specs according my motor configuration. For this, My idea is to remove the Nikasil and to install an iron liner with an external diameter of 112 mm and then bore to 105 mm. The cranckcase hole is 114mm, so what do you think?

I am waiting your scientific comments!

get some rods too and up your rev limit, would be my way of getting more horses quickly over what your already planning on doing/have done.

ok ... I 'll be the translator...

He says that one of his relatives builds engines for Kawasaki martin or Gixxers.
To do that, he uses cylinders (sleeves) coming from car engines. These engines are mostly coming from french car manufacturers (cleon is a renault twingo engine while TU is the reference for Peugeot 106/205... engines).
He achieves good results in these cases but he never heard of such engine work on Twins where applied stresses are different.

The only thing that comes to mind is possible cooling problems. Seem to remember somewhere that 1 of the big advantages of Nikasil cylinders is the ability to transfer heat better.

I got halfway through doing 106mm using alloy sleeve's as recommended,but besides going through the water jacket on the barrel's and then the guy who was doing it heated up the barrel's one to many time's and even thoug he wouldnt admit it, he ovalled the barrels,which I'm guessing was due to the heating,cooling,heating,cooling he did to them.
Stick some 102's in or if safe enough maybe 104's and get ya crank stroked or buy a bilet stroker crank to be 100% safe,maybe cheaper to just buy a 1098r engine and fit that :Laugh

Heres pic of piston's+barrels.

98MM LEFT, 106MM RIGHT.
