If someone does get some .exe files that are able to fix them without a return, then definitely have them added to the file vault here!!!

Without any question. I purchased it directly from a DJ Authorized Tuning Facility. P/N 303-411.

First of all, DJ's customer service IS THE WORST! The techs I dealt with, including the "Warranty Manager", showed NO sympathy. After I did not receive a response from the first tech (after an email and voicemail), I decided to call back and wait another 20 minutes to speak to someone. 20 mins. seems to be the minimum wait time with them. After finally reaching Mike (Warr. Mgr), I told him the files and updates fixed nothing and that I was aware of the major flaw (thx to this thread! ) going on. He REFUSED to admit they have had any problems with the PC3 for our bikes even AFTER I told him I am well aware this is a known issue for DJ. As if reading off a script, he continuously repeated "you have to send the unit back - it could be a hardware or software issue, and I have no idea until I see it." I tried to get him to explain to me why it wouldn't work brand new out of the box - he refused to give any explanation. I asked him if there was any way I could fix it w/out sending it back, but he explained there was nothing that could be done. Extremely frustrated at both the wasted time installing the defective unit AND his "games", I asked him why the other tech would send me on a wild goose chase if there was no way I could fix it and they have no idea what could be wrong. Caught, he said he didn't know and he would have to ask him personally. This was BS, as the other tech is one of his employees and I'm sure they have this issue documented already.

Finally at wit's end, I decide to find out how to get the thing back to them. I inquired about the process and ETA, when, GET THIS.....he tells me I need to send it back ON MY DIME! I didn't think it could get better, but it just did! I just paid $350 for a knowingly defective (known by DJ), wasted hours ripping the bike apart to install it, and several more hours trying to troubleshoot it before I finally googled and found this. Now, I should PAY to send the POS back, wait who knows how long (either w/a bike in pieces, or reassemble then disassemble!)...after just dishing out $350! After finally calming down, just typing this is firing me back up!

I called the shop I bought it from (Chrome Horse Performance, Jensen Beach, FL - Dick is an incredible guy and can dyno tune like no other!) and explained what happened. He told me he was going to call them himself and he'd call me back. He got the same response (horrible CS). He then phoned his DJ "contact", who, realizing how f'ed up this all is, assured him he would have a WORKING unit overnighted to him, arriving tomorrow a.m. A call tag for this one.

I will believe it tomorrow when it comes. I am pretty skeptical about it working. I am so frustrated and fed up with DynoJet, words can't express it. Anybody who tears the airbox in and out over and over knows what a PITA it is. I did a nice, clean install, only to have to rip it out. Worst of all, DJ refuses to admit they are selling units that WON'T work, and the next poor schmuck who buys a brand new PC3 off the shelf will go through everything I just did. That's COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS! They don't want the cost/trouble of either recalling them or making a fix, so they think they can just deny they have a problem. May have worked back in the pre-internet days, but not anymore! Now we have the ability to share information WORLD-WIDE, allowing us to identify these trends. They can't fool me...this is NO "isolated incident" and I am not investing another CENT to get a brand spanking new $350 unit to work!

It's a damn good thing I supported Chrome Horse with my purchase. Had I not purchased from them, I would be on my own and at the whim of DJ. And as I'm finding out, being on your own with DJ is NOT a good thing. Something to keep in mind in these days of eBay and Craigslist - no substitute for a supportive dealer. I will start researching my alternatives to PC/DJ, as truthfully, I HATE giving my hard-earned money and business to ANY business like this....I'll keep you guys up-to-date....

Honestly....I was never meant to have a working unit

Just received my PC3 back this morning from Hans. Connected it up to the PC, read the map....still the same. Checked the trim banks....ONLY 2!! WTF? C33 when connected to the bike.

Its been 3 weeks with Hans and nothing was changed at all. What a waste of time and post money.

I'm going to ask Hans to contact Dynojet UK to have them do it now.

I'm so f**ked off now!

Hans,

The unit arrived this morning. There has been no change to the software, still only two fuel trim banks and error code C33 from the bike, its not running well at all.

I sent the unit back to have it set for 4 fuel trim banks as this is the problem with the running, not the installation or anything else. The Suzuki TL community know this is a DJ problem as many many people have had the exact same issue with the only cure being to send the unit back to DJ for a parameter change. We upgrade to the latest official firmware and the units die on us. Very poor.

Can you contact a more local office to rectify this fault such as Dynojet UK please. This is a mess up and its costing me time and money. I'm sure this is an oversight from your team but I still don't have anything that works. The UK office is a 25 minute drive from me and much easier for both of us than posting this PC3 back.

I tried calling you this morning to talk but I'm assuming your office is closed on a Saturday.

I really need this problem resolving asap.

d-dan, sorry to hear about your nightmare...I had my fingers crossed for you, but after my experience with DJ, I know the uphill battle you face.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update you guys on how things went for me. From the day I posted, I have been non-stop... I apologize in advance for the length of this post....

Basically, as my last post stated, Dick was able to convince DJ to overnight a replacement unit (with a C.C. auth. for "deposit") and a UPS call tag for the defective unit. The replacement did arrive around noon the following day. Before even touching the bike, I plugged it into my laptop and what do you know? 4 Cylinder Trim columns! I loaded a map and tossed it in. I fired the bike up - no FI light and no codes! WHEW!

I was heading out of town that weekend with the bike and thought for sure I was going to be completely reassembling the bike and taking it w/out a Power Commander, only to have to come home and tear the bike back apart to install the replacement. Instead, I was able to toss the replacement in, put the bike back together, and ride it over to Chrome Horse for my custom tune on their DJ dyno.

(BTW, I believe I pulled about 121-123 hp and 71 or 72 tqe...it was close to 100 degrees out with very high humidity - normal summer afternoon here in hellish South Florida! The map was made to be very streetable, per my request...obviously, we can make it show bigger numbers, but what good is it if it's where I won't use it or it's not streetable? Running Joe-V mod, BMC race, full RS-3, no pair system. Not sure how that stacks up, but sounded about right to me.... ) Having the TL running decent for the first time in 6 months was certainly nice. (Bought bike with a PC2, which after several months of troubleshooting, turned out to be dead...hmmm, end of useful life or an early taste of DynoJet's quality?)

But (and here it comes!! ) I was, and still am, VERY UPSET at the way both Dick and I were treated by DynoJet. I decided to write a lengthy letter to Mr. Robert Vlcek, President and CEO of DynoJet Research, Inc., detailing my experience with his company. I have attached a PDF copy of the letter I sent. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE that all of you experiencing a problem with DynoJet do the same!

So far, I have heard NOTHING. Not an email, not a phone call, no letter. No response or apology from any representative of DynoJet. They really must NOT CARE! Their attitude?

I have, and will continue, to spread the word about my experience and DynoJet's idea of "customer service" and "product support". If people decide to give their hard-earned money to a particular company, they should at least be aware of the risk they are taking. We all know there are businesses out there that will go to whatever length to make a customer happy - DynoJet is CLEARLY NOT ONE OF THEM! DynoJet KNOWS they have a problem out there, which is THEIR DOING, and they refuse to admit it and simply recall the units or develop a patch that the CONSUMER can download and run to fix it! Instead, they have the nerve to tell the customer that THEY SHOULD PAY TO SEND IT BACK FOR REPAIR!! DESPICABLE and UNACCEPTABLE! Hmmm, I wonder if they would handle this situation the same way if this was affecting the PC3 for a *different* bike....like gixxers or 'busas?? I bet NOT! All I can say is speak where you KNOW IT WILL BE HEARD...with your WALLET!

With that said, I also want to remind everyone that it could have been even worse for me, had I NOT had the support of Mr. Dick Hewitt @ Chrome Horse Performance in Jensen Beach, FL. While I typically tend to make large purchases online these days, this is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of the VALUE of supporting your local shop! Dick had my back from the moment I informed him, and I have him to thank for getting me back in one piece in time for my trip. Think about this next time you are trying to save a few bucks by buying online - I know I will!

Good luck to all who are currently dealing with this and to those "future victims" of DynoJet. Hopefully this thread will help some of you. Although I wasted several hours trying to troubleshoot the problem, I eventually stumbled on this thread and although the answer I got was disappointing, at least I knew it wasn't something I was doing wrong! Hopefully the next guy doesn't have to go through all this trouble in the first place....

You know, come to think of it, perhaps if I would've added some "hugs" to the "kisses", maybe I would have actually gotten some "love" from him??

I would go with anything but a PC3...I was talking to someone today who said the Yosh Box is really the way to go for the TL. I can't turn back now...I'm "pot-committed", as they say, and was broke before this whole debacle! But I definitely love to hear other people refuse to allow DynoJet to continue to treat us like sh!t! Like I said, speak with the loudest thing you've got...YOUR WALLET! I think I might actually sleep a little better if you don't replace your broken PC3 with another DynoJet product...can you tell they rubbed me the wrong way?

ffaspector, the TL ECU wizard!

If he can translate maps from a PC3 to my ECU, I'll pay for that service (the insurance will never know )

Switchable maps, soft TRE, soft shift light..... sounds appealing.

The PC3 is back and working so to speak. It was replaced for a new one Thankyou Hans

The note attached said NOT to flash it to the current firmware and its currently running v2.3.0 with 4 trim banks showing. Thats it for now, not touching the swine any more.
