I'm not sure why either, the first thing said by the Dynojet dealer was "do you have a US model?" so maybe it has to do something (in my case) with the difference in bike model that is detected by the PC3? still it's a strange thing i agree
Even i am questioning myself now "did i do everything right?" .... i am strongly convinced i did ... maybe i did make some firmware flashing mistake, or maybe not ... time will tell

Sounds like a good debunking job for FFAstspector and his group.
Sounds like hogwash that ONLY dynojet can enable the extra injector maps. Hooey!!

I'm in the same boat too
Hoping that Dynojet in Garstang will be able to help tomorrow. Act dumb and say little is the plan.
Plugged it all in, starting on the stock map and sure enough...pop pop pop pop (firing on one)

Arrr. I feel your pain.. Im waiting for mine to return from the U.S. Looks like it may have something to do with the latest factory default country specific software. I think Dynojet may be shooting themselves in the foot a bit here.

Hmm, there is an update already.
To cut a long story, I got my PC3 off eBay from a guy in N.I. I bought it 2nd hand, but the guy lost it and decided to send me a new one (it was sealed)
So I emailed him last night to ask him for original proof of sale and explained what had happened. And his response was
Quote:
|
I can send you a programmer. Whats the address. you will need to send it back to me. Whats your number?
|
What do you guys think? Do you reckon he has the right hardware to do this??

My curiosity always gets the better of my wallet I'm really interest to see what this guy had, even if it's just a USB lead and standard software!
I'm going to call Dynojet UK in 30 mins when they open for the morning. They are only a 40 min drive away, so hopefully I can just go there and get it sorted.
Update:
Called Dynojet UK, they wanted the serial number to check that it originated in the UK and it's not one of their US ones. Anyway, I gave it and they will ring me back when support wake up in Las Vegas or wherever they are
I'm not hopeful as they did say that if its not a UK on they will have to send it off...I've worked in electronics repair workshops for 14 years and its just utter BS. All for the sake of a quick flash or parameter change on their programming suite. FFS!!!! Company politics and dealership buck passing.
On a more positive note, he did say that if it all checks out, they will do it there and then.

I also had the same problem. Missing 2 injectors.
I am from holland, and i could just send it to dynojet here in the netherlands without a fuzz. I even told them that i bought the unit in America. The did something for free on the unit (i have no clue what) but i got the 4 injectors back. I don't know why they are bitching about this US thing.

d-dan, from the email I took it to mean that he wants to send you a programmer, and that he wants you to send it back to him when you're done with it... no?
I've flashed all of my DJ gear (PC3, WBC, Screen), never had any trouble. Seems unlikely that they do anything special, sounds like you guys just need the particular firmware they're using. If someone gets it, distribute it quick so it's freely available.
