motor swap now wont start?
just finished swapin a 2000 tlr motor into my other 98 tlr frame. i used the 2000 wiring harness with the motor. is there anything stupid that people leave out that will make the motor not start. now im a mechanic by trade so i know how to work on things but im just lookin for a place to start when i get home. any help would be appreciated. thanks

The safety switches (clutch, side stand, TOS etc) might be a good start. It would be most helpful if you said what you meant by won't start - what exactly happens when you try to start it?

im sorry i shouldve known. its a crank no start. i got fuel but no spark. all connections are made to the coils. everything worked fine 3 days ago so i know its not a computer or anything like that. the only thing i see missing is two connector on either side of the engine. its a female two blade connecter with an orange/yellow wire and black/red wire. ??

Go to the 'file vault' at the top of the page and download the manual, it has the wiring diagram in it with wire colours.
Put it into dealer mode and read off any codes (if i's C00, try cranking it for 6 seconds or so in dealer mode to see if it throws a crank or cam sensor fault). Dealer mode >> http://wotid.com/tls/content/view/54/60/

thank you for that link. i pulled the codes i got c21,22,23,13. most cuz i had the intake box off but the c23 is the tip over sensor which is where my problem is. could anyone guide me in the direction to this sensor
please help me!!!! |

(Under the tank hinge)C22 is the atmospheric pressure sensor, on the TLR, that is mounted under the headlight.

hahaha thanks crock i DID have everything connected but i took the top half off to start rechecking all my connections so a few sensors were unplugged. i found the tos but i didnt really have time to get it all back together and try it. ill try it again when i get out of work tonight, i hope thats all it is.
