Well, I'm back
Been a while folks. Glad to see the board is still doing well. Hadn't been around because I'd put all of my hobbies on hold the last few years, but that's finally drawn to an end because this is done...
Yep, Kelli and I moved into our new home a few months ago. We designed and built it ourselves, through my family's construction company. We do exclusively new commercial construction, so it was a bit of a seat of the pants deal, but all in all it wasn't too bad. Very time consuming, but definitely worth it. It's built on a creek, which is nice. Got a fair bit of work to do on the creek bank, but one thing at a time. The driveway is quite long, which added a fair bit to the cost. We knew we had to do it though, because from the beginning we decided to have the garage at the rear of the house. That was because the garage... is huuge! We didnt want it dominating the front of the house, like so many in our neighborhood. I think our house is one of 3 with the garage in the back in the whole subdivision. I love the garage-I've already done more in it than I had in the last five years at our old house. It's deep enough to easily fit my F250 crew cab when I drive it home instead of the Ranger-the bumper barely overhangs the 6' walkway at the rear of the garage. The reason the floor is back is it's stained concrete with a wax on top. Looks like stone, and cleanup is a breeze. Man, I can't tell yall how glad I am to finally be back among the TL brethren again-just finished a little project on the TL-fabbing up a sheetmetal trunk (since my old one got demolished in the trackday getoff a few years ago). I'll have pics and a writeup tomorrow evening, with a how to in case any one else wants one. Good to see everyone again! Scott
