Ready for the SNOW,

Dad's old tractor is ready to go, unlike last time we where at the mercy of my cousin to plow our driveway.

This time I'm ready, bring it.

We still have some snow piled up around town but most of it is gone with the warm weather we had.

Now we are getting perhaps a bit more but only 6-10 inches they say.

If it's going to happen six inches or more please.

Anything less is not worth the mess.

North Texas has been getting hammered. The front is running just to the north of the metromess and we are getting hit with the rain right now. Looking for ice maybe this afternoon.

A Kourier has to establish space on the pavement. Predictable law-abiding behaviour lulls drivers. They mentally assign you to a little box in the lane, assume you will stay there, can't handle it when you leave that little box.

Y.T. is not fond of boxes. Y.T. establishes her space on the pavement by zagging mightily from lane to lane, establishing a precedent of scary randomness. Keeps people on their toes, makes them react to her, instead of the other way round.

It's suppose to start tonight sometime. Right now the sun is piercing through the clouds like a peeping tom.

I have the Jeep Grand Cherokee over the sidewalk (prevents me from shoveling it this time).

The tractor in front of the jeep with the blade on to scrape the driveway clear if needed,

The cars will be parked beside the tractor to help keep the parking area clear of snow.

Will buy gas for the tractor tonight while at work.

I doubt we get that much.

The pass snow event was lame but we are getting another one right now.

I hope it piles up like the one a week before Christmas.

I'm at work but I've been told I can stay or leave and use PTO.

Right now, I see no reason to leave.

No internet at home. Some dumb-arse smacked the telephone pole on our road which somehow knocked out are DSL. Yet we have phone.

They made a big deal of this storm but so far I'm not all that impressed.

Me too. love it, It's been snowing since about 6:30A.M. and we have about six inches or more of fresh snow but if it was not so wet it could have been about a foot.

We ended up gettinga bout 13 inches this time around and 4 inches the on January 29.

In December, one week before Christmas we receive 21 inches. Tomorrow night they are calling for 3-6 inches.

Old tractor needs some chains for sure. It's having a hard time pushing the snow.

From what the inlaws have said, NoVA has gotten a fair bit more snow than that. Seems roofs are caving in and people are stuck all over. The local government advised people to stay in their basements in case their roof collapsed from the weight of the snow. Only government could be so dim as to suggest this as a solution rather than simply clearing excessive snow accumulation

I live about halfway between Baltimore and Annapolis, and not far from BWI airport. They said the offical total at BWI was 24. something inches, but I know we got over 30 cause its past my waist. I finally got dug out this morning and went to the mall, and a lady started tallking to me saying she just heard through her work (federal employee somewhere around here) that we are supposed to be getting another 20+ inches tomorrow and wednesday. The news keeps asking people to get up on their roofs and shovel excess off here, not sure what the difference is in the 40 miles from here to NoVa? They said that Elkridge, Md 38" of snow.... Previous record was like 26" I believe.....
