Exhaust leak, valve adjustment, or other?

So ive got the bike back together now after painting the frame black and installing bitubo and getting chuck to do his magic with the yosh box. The bike was running fun for about a week or so, just a little louder popping in the exhaust (was told by my buddy i ride to work with it would shoot some flames). On the way to work last week i started to hear some loud ticking (much louder than normal) and the popping was much louder. I got home and did some snooping and thought it was an exhaust leak on the rear spigot or connector to the can section. Got those two gaskets in and replaced them and started it back up and it still does the same thing. Cant seem to find a leak, but i didnt look too hard. When i let off the throttle and it pops in the exhaust a little i can hear it pinging around a little (maybe the tappet slapping around?). Is it possible the popping has cause a valve to go loose?

I would suggest you have more leaks to find.

Thats what i thought. I'll have to do some more digging. I hope it isnt the rear spigot where it attatches to the head. The motor came out but the spigot was left on.

Do you still have the pair valve on? If you do, remove it. If it is off, check the lines/block-off plate. I was having problems with the bike popping, so I removed the pair valve and just plugged the two lines coming from each cylinder with a bolt. Worked great until the bolt wore through the line and had an exhaust leak coming from the top of the engine. This had me scratching my head for a bit 'till I found the hole.

Ahhhh yes they are off. (the two flapper valves on top of the air box?) I'll have to check and make sure everything is sealed off.

Or are you talking about something else?

after looking around, cant see pics or anything at work it, sounds like something may have come off my pair valve in the rear. Its loudest right next to the spring side of the suspention on the bike right under the gas tank. Right there where you can see the side of the top of the valve cover.

Also explains why my seat gets...uh...hot.
