My motor taken apart.. NDUS (Again)...

Just saw and took pictures of the motor with cases split and wide open...

The crank is almost completely destroyed.

The crank shells are worn to the end...

It looks like that when I went on after I heard the first noises from the engine, this killed the crank... and caused some serious damage on the cases themselves... Here are some pictures of the damage....

These are just the first pics and I will take some more when I get there again just for my full collection of tearing down the motor....

Here is while making that "special" tool to remove the swingarm.
With the priceless help of TLDV8's pictures from an old thread...
TLZone... I love you and hate you all together

The condition of the engind on the top is just perfect with the barrels and pistons in great shape and the gearbox looking really good....
Too bad that the moron writing this post forgot to put enough oil in the engine and failed to doublecheck :bangehad

You know nothing? ? ?
Man... you know more than I do...
I will also check this possibility of repairing it locally, as Falicon is a bit far from where I am

Those shells are inside the lower part of the rods (the large end) where they attach to the crank... So, removing the rods will allow the shells to be taken out...
For more details, I will have to ask the guy who tore it down.....

Right now, the only thing he hasn't done yet is to remove the crank from one of the cases, as according to him it's stuck because of the damage on it...
Those pictures were taken -as you can see- with the crank attached on the case and seems like he cannot take it out...

I guess there must be a trick or a special tool needed... I will take more pictures of it's current condition and I will call back...

OK, i thought the pictures of the "shells" were out of the cases... did not dawn on me that they were from the connecting rods..

I would think puttign the case upside down, crank on underside..on some big blocks and then using a dead blow hammer with some paddign underneath so the crank does not hit aything solid on the way out, and some light hammer blows it should come free. FWIW.

Thanks O2w.... i could not get that for NOTHING.

It's a bit far, but there is a guy here in Aus (Melb. I think) who reco's cranks and all manner of destroyed engine bits. He just reco'd my uncles 1926 Dodge crank that was scored, seized in the case and left to rot. Basically it was a write off and seeing as parts for that car are long discontinued, this fella was his saviour.
You shouldn't have too many problems getting someone local who can do the same. Look up some restored car clubs and see of they can give you a name.
