The game just began...... NDUS
I jumped and now I need to find out how to swim.....
My bike decided to kick the bucket a couple of weeks ago... You've read about that in this other thread...
For those who have a weak memory ....
Bad news about my motor ....NDUS
Time to do something about that.....
Moved the bike in a place where it's possible to work on it and started ....
Well, I know that you have seen pictures like these a hundred times but those were not mine ..So here are mine
First thing, stripping down all the unecessary things
and the bike looks like this...
Anyone for spaghetti?
After this stage, I was too absorbed and busy to take pictures and suddenly I find the motor on the floor....
...just beside the bike.... Man... it's so light now
Just afterwards, the motor is moved down on the surgical table
and the bike covered to spend the night...
Enough for today... Tomorrow, there's plenty of work to be done....
Another interesting thing is that I just found a hairy crack on the left side of the frame where the radiator mounts....
I've been looking for cracks around the frame very often but this one was hiding quite good....
It was under the mount and with all the plastics and the fairing stay and the rad installed, it was be extremely difficult to be seen...
But it was there....
I don't have any pictures right now of the crack, I will take some tomorrow with the sun light...
I will need some help from you concerning this issue and I will tell you my plans...
For the moment, let's call it a day.
To be continued......

Excellent Pictures. Don't forget to add the rear cam cover breather while the engine is rebuilt!
Not good about the cracked frame! I check this very carefully at each yearly service and never found something... touch wood!!!
Greetings
Rufer

Are you doing a rebuild or did you find another engine? This would be a good time for frame powdercoating...or a gap mod

I am going to split the cases first and see what's the problem. After that I will hav eto decide which route to follow.
Haven't searched for a motor yet....
As for the frame, I had in my plans to strip the bike all the way down (now I HAVE to ) and then powdercoat the frame, swingarm, subframe and all the other small bits.
We are two people working on the bike, so one will be on the motor and the other on the frame in the same time. The only delay will be on finding the parts or the motor, depending on how the bike will came back to life...
Soon, I will post some questions I already have... But for the moment, it's time to get some rest....
Thanks guys....

I had the same crack in my frame. Suzuki Canada replaced the frame no questions asked, including labour and I was the second owner, it didn't matter.
I know our US brothers have a hell of a time getting a frame replaced, I'd have no idea for you.
Good luck on the engine and the frame!
