Motivation to post replies?
I'm curious why people do and dont post up replies to questions or post questions themselves? A Forum like this thrives on Q&A's so knowing what makes it tick I think would be of interest.
There's certain names that crop up time and again, and seemingy a silent majority that dont post much or anything at all, just wondered why those that do - "do"? and those that dont -"don't"?

For me it comes down to trying to find a solution to a problem. I would rather fix things myself, so why not help others do the same if I can? Plus I figure a few deposits into my karma account can't hurt.

just the need for some semblance of human contact. J/K. mostly just passing information or sharing something I've seen.

Is this your ebay feedback?
POSITIVE: I don't really remember what I ordered. But I've been sitting in the box it came in all day, and it's great!

I post to try and help out others. This forum has taught me alot about my bike. I got screwed by shops with mechanics, so after finding this place, and learning how to fix it RIGHT myself, i try to pass along the info if/when i can. The idea is to keep our dead breed Running!!

It depends for me. If I see something that I know I have the answer for, I'll post up. However sometimes it's one of those dead horse questions or maybe I just don't have the energy and won't post, but usually I try to help out, even if it's the zillionth time the question has been asked. I keep some stuff handy, like the extract from the PDF service manual I have for torque setting and order of tightening of the bolts on the TLR fuel pump...just because it's asked a lot and I don't want to see someone fubar their bike on something like that when I've got the info they need.
As for asking questions...I know there's a huge wealth of knowledge here, and not just about TL's but pretty much all bikes. I know I can usually get the info/help I need right here.

A Kourier has to establish space on the pavement. Predictable law-abiding behaviour lulls drivers. They mentally assign you to a little box in the lane, assume you will stay there, can't handle it when you leave that little box.
Y.T. is not fond of boxes. Y.T. establishes her space on the pavement by zagging mightily from lane to lane, establishing a precedent of scary randomness. Keeps people on their toes, makes them react to her, instead of the other way round.

I am not the smartest guy on the forum, by a long shot. But through the years of modding I have learned a lot about these bikes. I am still no where near as knowledgeable as some people, but I try. I used to be a lurker just to learn, but I try and contribute more now.
