He talks of a clear line. As far as i know there arent any clear lines. Could this be someones diy crank case breather?

If the oil is getting on your can, have you had a look around that tail area to see where its coming from? Do you think this clear line is bringing the oil from the engine area and taking it to the tail?

ok im sat at the side of the bike the side the gear lever is and looking at the back cylinder at the back of that there is a black hose that comes from the back of the cylinder and around towards the front cylinder there is a clear hose that is clipped to the top of the black hose but the clear hose comes from the front end of the bike and ends at the back cylinder that was full of oil wjhich is where it was coming from , i guess as it was sprayed on the underneath of my petrol tank and on the frame above the gear lever and spraying out im guessing again as it was on my can and my left boot .

Whip the tank off, take some pics (Stick them on here!) and find out where that clear pipe is going to...as stock all breather pipes are black.

Be able to help you more once can see what your looking at

Yes, that sponge is supposed to be there. Sorry I did not see this sooner. I had a friend do the same thing, but we had to fix it in the parking lot of a Ducati dealer, that sucked, making the TL look bad.

Well 2 fixes for that

1) Drive without sloshing the oil OR
2) Slip the tube back on
