unmolested clean metal surfaces, new gasket, no sealant is really necassary,if you think you need sealant, i only use 'cause its the BEST you can find, loctite gasket eliminator,it is amazing stuff fills .010"+ gaps with a semi flexible plastic luking very tuff layer, and its anaerobic so if any sqirts out to the side its not gonna harden and plug up a oil galley,

+1 on the locktite,,,, they do three sorts too,,,, the grey one is the one for contact with water/glycol, the black one is for contact with oil,,,, and the orange one(copper) is for the hot bits of the engine

I know I'll get flamed for this... but if I feel the need for any sealant at all, I still use basic blue RTV for most anything like that.

I usually get new gaskets and clean everything up... but will sometimes add a dab "just in case".

I've never tried the Locktite, but might pick some up next time out since it's highly recommended all the time.

Where not talking about the RTV products Locktite makes.
Where talking about this stuff
http://au.iloctite.com/en/loctite-57...-518-gasketing
The price of the stuff will scare you but it doesn’t go of or dry out.
You can leave it on the shelf for years and it still works great

Threebond 1194 is the best hands down, in over 30 years building engines I think it's the best.

Also by some strange coincidence it happens to be the same stuff as Suzukibond, Yambond etc

Loads on Ebay delivered to your door
