any differences, 99 tlr cam and '97 tls cam?
I have 97 tls and one exhaust cam went broken and i have also engine from '99 tlr.
I'm wondering are the exhaust cams same in those both engines? So can i just take one exhaust cam from tlr engine and put it in my tls?
Other possibility is to swap whole engine, but i think thats not best or easiest option if the exhaust cams are same..

The cams are different in profile , very slightly.
the cam gears are different and you can't mix them.
you can use the whole cam assy including the idle gear if you want to go that way, tho the inlet cams are quite a bit different. It will work.
engine swap is OK . just oil cooler needs sorting out.

So if the exhaust cams are also different is it best then change all 4 cams and both idle gears? Does the ECU need tuning?
I just read somewhere..i think i read it here, that only the inlet cams are different in tlr and tls and exhaust cams are similar, but that's not true then?
I think i'm not that interested changing the whole engine if it's not necessary..maybe later

Stu said the profiles are different. The duration, lift BBDC, ATDC etc are the same. You can do the rear idler with the engine mounted in the frame.
