How do I get my exhausts black?
I'm thinking about making my exhausts black.
The only thing is I have no idea how.
Powder coating?
Painting? (Ha!)
Matt black BBQ paint?
Any ideas?

You can buy special exhaust paint. BBQ paint will work (for a while). Jethot can put a fancy black coating on it. Probably other ways too
Note that black will tend to radiate more heat than any other color. A jet hot sterling sliver coating will be more insulating and give off less heat.

Heat obviously being the enemy, I shall look into this high temp Powder coating.

Hi m8, Camcoat in Warrington (01925 445003) do ceramic coating which takes seriously high temps!. They coat the inside too which cuts down heat and maintains higher exhaust gas temps which apparantly lets em get oot the exhaust quicker which = more power apparently.
We use them for Harley (sorry for swearing!!!) exhausts.

Was thinking of coloring my slips on too.... I would suppose powdercoating would work seeing as the paint has to bake in.... I was thinking white slips with black brackets or vise versa... I have heard of the jet hot but does anyone has any pics?

check eastwood forums. last time I was looking people were not having many good things to say about the high heat powder, but I personally haven't tried it, I powder with average stuff. Best option is still ceramic when it comes to exhausts, though I would guess the cans might be a suitable candidate, especially if you can get some IR temp readings.
