Engine questions?

Ok so i recently synced the TB and set the TPS sensor. Also i removed the flapper system in the airbox.

But when im riding im getting sputter and detenation in the exhaust.

I noticed that the cans have tiny litle holes drilled into them near were the pipe and the cans join. This might be it but im not sure.

Also when setting the the TB's i used a tool like this

http://static.summitracing.com/globa...e/edl-4025.jpg

And the ball in the meter was rocking more up and down on the front TB then on the rear TB.

Then when i open the oil cap while the engine is in idle, its like an exhaust through there i mean it pulses air through there.

Ok so im looking for a troubleshoot here.

DO i have a bad piston ring? (But no smoke in exhaust so no burning oil)
Valve trouble?
Or am i just paranoid and nothings wrong hehe

Chip in your ideas guys thx

The gas coming out of the oil filler is normal just forget about it. there is 1litre of air going up and down in there and some of it will want to get out if you let it . thats why theres a filler bung.

was the splutter etc there before you started?

noise in the exhaust when you close the throttle is cause by air getting into the pipes on deceleration. A bit of high temp silicon on the joints and block any holes will stop this .

What exactly is sputter?

Maybe fix the exhaust leak first and revisit the sputter.

Sounds like he may have the Pair Valve still on his bike... on decel it trys to burn the extra exhuast by injecting air into the pipes. The lil holes are moisture drain holes.

You can check to see if the exhaust clamps are snug. just thinking out loud.

remove the pair valve and plug the hoses and you'll lose the backfire. those holes in the mufflers are normal, they're for water drainage in the event the bike gets left out in the rain, and to drain moisture from condenstation when running

Not all markets have the PAIR system. Some did, some didn't.

The 'CA only' stuff was a sealed tank vented to atmosphere via a charcoal cannister that was purged by the engine running.
