It's not 26000 but 13 years of UK weather
And 2000 a year is enough to gum up any engine Japanese German or any other
26000 = 2000 a year = 38 miles a week!!! I walk more than that I'm sure,lol

I've just read a lot more... it really does point to valve clearances... what a fucker, ah well it'll have to wait till next month, for now its living with 2000rpm idle lol!

I've just booked it in, said it will probably be around £100-£120, its at m&m motorcycles near Peterborough, the owner used to have a mad tls covered in fur!! So he will be doing it so I feel the bike will be in good hands!! Lol!
Thinking about it... I got this bike with just under 18k miles on it... And if the previous owner never had the valves done then it's now 27,000 miles without them being checked hahHahaha
I'm really hoping its this, I think this will be my deciding point, if it isn't this then I'll just end up patting ways and getting an rsv instead.
It has to be this surely haha
Yeah,there's a good chance they've not been done,you could tell on mine the difference after they'd been done

The main and only issue I feel is the fact it won't tick over below 2000rpm without cutting out, I hope this clears it up![]()
My sons R wont tick over properly,sometimes cuts out, revs rise and fall, i am trying another TPS sensor before checking valve clearances as its easier to do.
Thanks to Sparky,Mick and zone members for making my new silver dream machine so special to me and Diane. My 97 engine and wheels and 99 frame with kind donations to make this beautiful bike possible.k7 radial front forks and calipers, R powder coated swingarm with steel custom brackets and Honda 900 Hornet rear shock and 1100 lbs spring. R headers welded onto S front down pipe,home made front damper mod, pc111 usb, airbox mod, Art twin outlet oval cans, hydro clutch and Barnett springs,TRE, K&N Filter, gap mod tray,carbon undertray,tiny indys,top yoke conversion to mx bars,R6 throttle tube, Later ecu so no more stumbles at 3000 revs.6 spring clutch fitted with custom black pressure plate and clear clutch cover, cheers sparky,adam,chris and stu for the parts.
Oh and also, I have tried everything to stop the cutting out... I mean everything... Even a whole new wiring loom last September, new relays all round, earth mods, everything and it still does it... It has to be these valves hahaha
It isn't likely to be the fuel filter or injectors. Too-tight valve clearances could do it as could screwy coils/plugs/leads. You didn't by chance set the TPS and balance the TBs with the rear boot out did you? Also could be partly due to a stretched out rear rubber inlet or clamp not holding it as secure.
