If you're capable of removing the side panels, it's easy
Remove indicator stalks
Remove LHS and RHS fairing panels.
Disconnect wiring blocks behind LHS indicator stalk
Remove screen (seven? bolts). Don't lose washers
Remove mirrors (two bolts a piece)
Remove steering damper
Remove screen brace
Undo four cross head screws securing the front fairing to the plastic subframe
Lift it away
The only thing you really need to be careful off is that of the four cross head screws, you don't leave one of them supporting the weight of the fairing. I remove the two lower ones, then loosen the two upper ones. I then support the weight of the fairing with my left hand, and unscrew the remaining two screws with the fingers of my right hand.
It's surprisingly easy to remove. The hardest thing is probably going to be getting the wiring blocks apart if they've not been seperated for a while. Those blocks are vulnerable to corrosion if you ride in the wet; whilst they're apart, blast them with contact cleaner, clean them up with a stiff brush and treat them to a bit of white grease prior to re-assembly. Your headlight will thank you for it if you ride at night a lot.
