Aarrgghh!! not again..

Well the weather gods blessed us with some nice riding weather today, had a nice blast through the twisties and was quite enjoying myself... Until half way home

Riding along i noticed the FI warning light had come on, and after the problems i had earlier on in the year i decided to pull over and put it into dealer mode to see what code was being thrown up.. Get back on and kick her over, no warning light came up again so i carry on.. Not long after i see c35 on the display and still no warning light.. about 10min down the road, i'm slowing down for a set of lights and i noticed the needle drop a couple of times then the bike cuts out.. Hit the starter and she fires up straight away.. Get around the corner, bike seems to be running fine, no warning lights, c00 code showing, so i carry on carefully and keep an eye on it.. Another 5 or so minutes down the road she just dies, try hitting the starter.. nothing.. try clutching it.. nothing.. Manage to get off the main road and i have no power what so ever

$200 later and the bike is now home and i am not very impressed..

Last time this happened, i soldered the wires to the starter relay on top of the battery, i removed the white connector under the left front indicator and soldered the wires together. Still didn't fix the problem.. Turns out the battery was rooted (mind you it was only 3 months old) so i replaced that and she was running beautifully.. Will check on the battery status tomorrow to see if that is dead again because at the moment that is all i could think that it may be..

I was thinking you might have a faulty connection at the ecu (or anywhere for that matter) and the rear injector connection was the first to be compromised.Could be as simple as a lose connector somewhere.

and if that is the case, would it completely shut down the bike? As in no power to the dash with the ignition turned on..

TLDV8 posted a picture of a mod the other day. It bypasses the main electrics running through the starter solenoid completely. A much simpler and more effective mod than soldering the wires to the solenoid.

(You still need the solenoid coil wires connected, but they don't carry much current and aren't the cause of the problem with it).
