Microsoft upped the warranty to 3 years if your console suffered the ring of death failure. Known design fault with them. You can sometimes recover it yourself by removing the standard heatsink and applying new thermal compound

I received the unit back yesterday. I have not even connected it to test out. Tomorrow's project I suppose.

Mate mine died again yesterday. this is the second time now in 7 months. not F@#$@*g happy at all. i just got motogp 08 yesterday i had played it for 20. i mins had to go out came back and turned it on and the rings off death show up

I have played mine very little since I got it back. The kids hardly play the wii so I think I might just sell them both.
Seems I've wasted a lot of money in them and we never really play them.
