PA Rt6 Two-Day Ride, October 27 > 28
I am planning a trip tp PA for the following weekend, during peak fall foliage.
The rough plan so far is as follow: * SATURDAY: 6 Hrs trip from CT to motel near Wellsboro, PA riding thru RT 6. Leave CT around 8am and have lunch in the way there and get set in hotel before evening. * SUNDAY: ride to PA Grand Canyon and head back to CT on RT 6 as well. I like photography, so that is my second objective and i will be stopping along the way for scenaries. I already found a motel with really reasonable rates ($75 for 2) near Wellsboro. It could very likely be my last trip of the year. Anyone interested, let me know and I could share more details, but it should be as simple as this: get on the bike, ride, sleep, and get back the next day. Later BB

Damn dude, that sounds like fun. If I had a bike I'd be joining ya there. Be a nice ride from here, meet up, share pictures (I'm into photography as well) have some beers, then head out the next day. Heck, you might make it a three day deal. One day there, spend a day touring around with TLZ'ers, then the one day back.

I'll probably be stuck doing school work, but in the off chance I get it all done during the week what kind of route have you got planned? Much interstate/slab? I've got a DR350 up here now (similar to the bike I was on last time we rode together, but setup with gearing for the street so not so slow - goes 65-75 without worry, but interstate still gets old pretty quickly).

Cool, I didn't know if Rt 6 was somewhat nearby or required a lot of slab. I will check a map to see how far it would be from me
I won't be sure about schedule for a while so don't make plans based on me, but if I end up free i'll probably be up for it

hey, just caught your thread. if you can. hit up the sherwood inn. in wellsboro. very nice. we stayed there on OCT. 12th. it is across the street from the diner and you can walk all over wellsboro there are many nice restaurants (not the big franchises good homecooked stuff) i will be heading back there. here is a bit off topic rundown of our trip up thru there and to watkins glen......btw, enjoy the ride!
well, not much fighter talk but i did have a great time motorbiking this past weekend with the wifey. and got a few pics to go with it. we took the strom with all the bags for a bit of a fall folliage run and winery tour around seneca lake in NY. put a bit over 600 miles on from friday AM till Sunday afternoon. i would highly recomend it to anyone. ![]() as for the other central pa riders. you never told me how nice you guys have it out your way. i rode up route 144 from 322 upto route 6 and it was absolutely beautiful. no traffic (ok it was mid-day friday) great scenery and nice roads. ![]() ![]() then we headed east to wellsboro for the night. in the AM we went north into watkins glen and got a hotel. the hotel owner cut me a $25 break since he was a fellow strom owner. (remember...membership has it's privlages ) then we toured around seneca lake (over 30 wineries) and did a bit of taste testing. i wasn't a wine drinker but i am now. it was a great experience and i learned a bit about wine. some i like...most i don't. i still prefer beer but can appreciate wine. ![]() we then parked saturday eve. and walked a block to the rooster fish brew pub for good eats. headed back to the hotel room and got a bit of shut eye. then got up sunday and headed home. with a stop at the corning museum of glass. was nice but i didn't realize all i didn't need to know about glass. overall i met some nice people, realized that don't take "my helmet fits fine" as good enough. (after an hour ride to breakfast friday AM, it resulted in turning around and going back to the shop for a new helmet for the wifey), i also really liked having heated grips in the 40degree morning air, and now feel the need to tap into some of that bluetooth technology for my helmet wares (i hate wires). yes i would do it again and plan on it! the worse part is now i am back at work!
