thanks bern, much appreciated. I've heard mixed reviews of the track...but I went to Pocono after hearing only bad things, and loved that little track, so

At speed...

T1 is at the end of a 3000ft straight. In that 3000ft you could almost get fast enough to go to plaid; or at least hit ludicrous speed... Anyway. Right through T1 is a concrete strip that will unnerve you the first few times you hit it. In order to do T1 correctly you must enter at the head of the strip and continue through it. You WILL stick.

T2 is a continuation of T1 and a great place to pass slower riders on the outside. Most won't go to wide out of T1 and apex early into T2. A little extra time on the outside and you go by them very easily. You now a small straight up to T3

T3 is a right biatch of a left hand turn and will spook you a bit. Uphill and blind crested it is very tricky. When you want to straighten up its still bending but you can see that. Go wide and you're eating runoff, take it too tight and you'll lowside into the run off. But, once you have the hang of it you’ll be able to use all of the turn and do NOT be afraid to use the red/white rumble strip as extra track at the exit.

T4 is a fast downhill right and a great passing opportunity (just ask Ryan ). Before you hit it though you had a small straight to pick up a lot of momentum as you left T3. All that momentum is going to be riding on your front wheel as you rush through T4. Don't F it up... That is a wall there with little run off. You can run a lot of speed through 4. More than a lot of people are willing to do.

T5 is another biatch of a left. If you thought the concrete was bad in T1 this is worse. But again, ride through it. DO NOT transition from concrete to pavement halfway through the turn. You will end up in the dirt as the front or rear slides out from under you. Ride through it and prep for T6/T7 at the end.

T6 is the beginning of a long right turn. The concrete in this turn is nothing compared to the others. Same rule though, drive through it. As you leave the concrete you’re continuing into T7.

T7 is of course a continuation of T6 but it is not concrete you need to worry about. If you're running a little wide you'll notice a lot of tar on the track. Don't go to high or you’ll see more tar than you’d like. You still need to go a little high to hit the apex of T7 though as the radius decrease and you need to stay tight to the right side to line up T8.

T8 is a simple left. After T7 you can gain a little more speed and enter T8 a bit hotter for the transition into T9.

T9 you should have a good momentum going for this turn. Do not take it any tighter than needed. As soon as you are past the apex stand the bike up head for the outside and power on. You now have a small straight before T10.

T10 can hold a lot of speed and will separate the men from the boys. In a race situation I down shifted once and never touched the brakes. Hit it right and you have all the momentum you need to hit some serious speed on the straight.

Wash, rinse and repeat.

Main is a fast track with a lot of intricacies that want to slow you down. Once you have those intricacies figured out it will only be you slowing you down (or so the fortune cookie told me).

3000'! that's an insane straight, over a half mile. I could land and take off a T-6 a solid three times in that distance I think

It is... To see the new 1k's run down that thing at speed is incredible. A lot of new riders will get to a point and hold a constant speed instead of holding WOT until the braking zone. Then to see that concrete patch in T1…

from the tapes you sent me it looks like there's a gap on the inside of the concrete that seems like it would be a good place to setup, not so?
