Will you be on foot......or renting a car or bike? Just want to know what kind of range you have. Vancouver and the surrounding area is beautiful. I am sure some of the local members will pipe up. I have been there for the Champ Car Indy race series a few times. Also ridden through there to take the ferry across to Victoria. Maybe plan to check out Whistler....they are getting ready for the soon to arrive Olympics.

Not too sure if ill be hiring a car/bike in Vancouver yet. If it will allow me to get to places public transport doesnt go to i might do so. Is vancouver island far from Vancouver itself, and what sort of things is there going on there?

You can ferry across on foot for around $30 Canadian I think. Around $45-$70 if you have a car or bike. I have only taken the Tawassen ferry and that was just over a 1 hour ride from the southern western tip of Vancouver to just outside the City of Victoria. Lots to see and do on the Island. If you are into the nature stuff (hiking, mountain biking) there is some beautiful trails and other outdoor things to do. Lots of Canadains retire out there, so be forwarned that there is alot of old people walking around
Google "Vancouver Island", "City of Victoria", "Tofeno", "Cathedral (spelling?) Forest".
We have some Zone members who live down there........so hopefully some of them will chime in.

Except when i accidently walked thru hastings st yesterday lol had a wander around stanly park which was really nice. The lifeguard in a rowboat cracked me up. Will go to the aquarium today or tomoro too. Can anyone recommend a decent pub here?

Glad your having fun. As far as the Pubs go, I have only been in Vancouver a few times. I recall going to a pub/nightclub district call "Gas town" or something like that.
Have fun in Victoria. Are you taking the ferry across?
If you like really old tall trees check out the "Catherdral Forest" while you are there. I think it is an hour or two outside the city. While your in Victoria, check out how many old people you see there. Alot of Canadians retire there because of the lack of cold winters, sometimes it is like the land of the walking dead
