Ontario MC Insurance
I just got quote for $3500 for the year to insure my 97TLS. At that price its cheaper to run without insurance!
I know people pay less, i have seen our American friends pay as low at $200.
WHo do you use and how much do you pay?

state farm is about the only way to go for most folks here. They base insurance on the cc of the bike. I pay about 1000/yr for my TLS, for full coverage.

Ugh, i remember ICBC, I lived in BC for 3 years. I'll be checking out State Farm today.
Does joining a MC club make any difference on insurance you think?

I second the State Farm bit, in Ontario they are the only ones that charge reasonable(for ontario) rates. The only problem is they will only write a policy if you have something else with them, car etc. I had to come back to Alberta for decent rates. $225 for an SV650. Even that has gone up with the economy out here. It used to be $600 for 4 bikes. Ontario is so screwed with rates that its hard to justify riding, legally.

Hey Guys I thought I was the only canuck on this site! Over in BC there are some other options.. Although the main basic coverage is with ICBC (bastards) you can get the extra coverage (fire theft vandalism etc) with Beacon Insurance which does save me about 400$ a year

For my TLR, insured only with PLPD, I paid $120/yr with Wawanesa.
I just bought a 07 CBR1KRR, and with full coverage on Wawanesa I am quoted $775. But I have to have other business as well, and they are raping me on my house insurance. I just did a quote with Meloche Monex for the house, but they don't do bikes, but their affiliate Primmum does, and their quote was $850. Only they want me to install an alarm on the bike! THeir car and house rates save me quite a bit, but not sure I want to do the alarm thing....
Reading some of the numbers above, it sounds like you On folks got it pretty rough.
